When the Fear takes over : Anxiety
.
.
.
Statistically 6 million people in the UK suffer from depression and/ or anxiety, although I believe this number is actually much higher. Anxiety is defined as 'worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events.' Everyone at some time or other in their life has been and will be worried about what the future holds, and fearful about the day ahead- it's human nature.
We may try to look for peace in the world, but this is only temporary, fortunately for us we have a God who is in the business of dealing with fear and giving us eternal peace. In John 14v 27 it says 'peace is what I leave with you, it is my own peace I give to you. I do not give it as the world does, do not be worried and upset and do not be afraid.'
Don't dwell on the worldly fear but instead draw on heavenly faith and peace, know that even when things get hard, we serve a God who conquered the greatest fears and he has already dealt with them and He already holds tomorrow in the palm of his hand. He is in control.
Your fear does not define you. Your anxiety does not define you. In all things pray to God, cast all your worries on to him and sleep knowing that He is dealing with it all.
"when you lie down you will not be afraid, when you lie down your sleep will be sweet."
Proverbs 3v24
Let go and let God. He will deal with it all.
"Fear is just the liar running out of breath..." Hillsong United.
